In search of MERL Tech solutions in African countries!

MERL Tech is collaborating with Data Innovators on a landscape scan for the Mastercard Foundation. The scan covers tech-enabled monitoring, evaluation, research and learning (MERL) solutions and approaches developed by Africa-based entities or designed for use in African contexts.

This includes digital technologies, platforms, initiatives, and software that are specifically designed for MERL as well as those that have the potential to contribute to MERL goals. For example, digital tools that support health, education, community development and human rights programming often produce data that can be useful for monitoring, adaptive management and decision-making. Digital tools developed for consultation and feedback provide data that helps with MERL functions.

We are especially interested in MERL Tech approaches that support community or youth-led MERL as well as qualitative, narrative and sense-making approaches.

In addition, we’re looking for digitally-enabled approaches and tools that help MERL practitioners understand complexity, impact at the portfolio level, and ecosystem level changes.

Emerging and innovative approaches and tools are also of great interest.

We would like to connect with organisations that have created MERL technologies, platforms, initiatives and/or software so that we can learn more about their work.

If you are interested in being included in the Scan and sharing more about your work, please provide us with your contact information via the form below. Please also share with others in your networks if you feel they might interested in being included in the Scan.

Fill in your details on the survey form

Your information will help us to provide a consolidated view of MERL Tech solutions leading and emerging in Africa that may be of interest to development organisations implementing MERL. We will share results from the Scan as they are available.
